I tried this product and it worked so well that I ran some experiments mis-using the product. The first thing I wanted to see, is, once you heat the product and the red stain turns from red to yellow how easily can I remove the yellow? Normally you would use a spot extraction, shop vac, or hot water extraction machine to flush and rinse the chemical out of the carpet. In this experiment, I just took a damp cotton towel and just rub it. The yellow came right out with all the red! By the way this was done on an apartment grade nylon. The next experiment is too see what will happen to the face fiber appearance if I leave chemical residue in the carpet? Since I never rinsed my stain and only toweled it, what will it look like in a day, a week, a month, a year? I have to tell you it never changed. It did not fade or alter the color at all. The original and end color stayed light brown. Now, naturally I am going to recommend that you use as directed. This means pre-rinse the carpet to remove any previous chemical spotters, and post rinse the spot to remove your applied chemicals.
